A native of Philadelphia and a product of the public school system (alumnus of the Central High School of Philadelphia); Evelyn Reed is a dynamic and progressive HR Leader with over 15 years of experience in various industries and markets throughout North America (US & Canada) and all aspects of the HR cycle (Hire to Retire and everything in between). 

Evelyn has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Southeastern Oklahoma University State; both with emphasis on Legal Studies and HR management. She is double certified in HR; holding her Senior Professional HR (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications. Evelyn is an official member of the Forbes HR Council contributing to content and articles on Forbes.com. She is an active Board Member for DisruptHR Philadelphia and was named one of the “10 Most Inspiring Women leaders of 2022” by Industry Era Women Leader Magazine. 

Throughout her professional career, Evelyn has worked with global brands such as Amazon and Hertz, as well as some local non-profits and healthcare agencies. Most recently, Evelyn serves as the Head of People and HR Operations at a multinational merchandising company where she strategically designs, oversees, and is connected with all aspects of the employee and HR cycle, ranging from recruiting, payroll, total rewards, and risk & safety to separations and everything in between. In addition to working full-time, Evelyn has launched her brand and company, HR Jawn. HR Jawn as a company is a boutique firm offering HR, Business, Notary, and Advocacy services for individuals, startups, and small to mid-size businesses. As a brand, it focuses on bringing HR-related content to social media in hopes to educate and enlight the everyday worker, think of @HRJawn, as your inside work bestie. 
Outside of professional work, Evelyn believes strongly in serving her community and has participated on multiple boards over the year; most recently serving as a member of the Parent and Community Advisory Council for the Philadelphia Board of Education. However, as any professional recognizes there must be balance; and Evelyn values the balance that time spent with her family brings her, as well as making and selling infused candles made to help aid with mental health and self-care.
