The older I grow, the saying “follow your dreams” a once scary concept, however now, has more clarity with my wisdom gained through my life experiences.
Being complacent in a mundane job or moment in life that offers you little to no growth or development, to me is even more scarier. We’ve all been there at some point in our lives; just working jobs simply to pay bill, waking up and moving but not really living your life🤦🏾♀️…
And when you never came from money, money often times becomes a motivation in this cycle. At least for me this was true. However as I grew older, I grew wiser and my values and priorities changed. No longer was getting that “it” bag, being seen, or rocking the latest designers important to me. My happiness and my personal and professional development became more important, thus also began to drive my choices in life.
And I can say I’ve been ecstatic about the direction of life, my career, my goals and my direction once I stopped allowing money to motivate me and focused on what mattered most to me, my growth.
Now all that being said, it has not been an easy road for me and I must caution people that the road to following your dreams will get rough and tough skin will be needed to endure everything that will be thrown at you. But with persistence, endurance and determination you WILL succeed. And I am a firm believer that when you love what you do, and do what you love, the funds will follow you.
Remember for every “no” you receive, it’s just a redirect, meant to turn you around and lead you to the “yes” that was meant for you.
Be positive, but give grace when you fall short.
Be bold, but also have awareness.
Be kind, but exercise discernment .
And above all… always be authentically you!
